🌿 The Heart Behind the Brand
I once ran fan pages, supporting other artists, as I never realized myself to be one.
But God, creativity, community, and identity work brought me forward, into my purpose as an artist, businesswoman, and vessel for something bigger.
From learning web design in middle school…
To building my first website in my BCU dorm room in Bronson…
To discovering spiritual and creative alignment at Rollins…
Every step led me here.
Meraki Wayy is the result of that journey — and now it’s an invitation for you to embrace yours.
This is your reminder to live with soul.
To create with faith.
To honor your authenticity.
To trust your path.
To grow with intention.
Welcome to the Meraki Wayy.
Live with soul. Live with love. Live with intention.
Meraki's Story
At 19, the young MC, always knew that she was destined for the limelight since young. Growing up in St. Albans, Jamaica Queens New York City, Hollis became Mahogony's playground for fun! Growing up in her caribean grandmother's house, raising her brother, and doing her best to take care of the family along with her grandmother. Mahogony was always in love with the arts from young, from singing in the church choir, dancing at the YMCA on Jamaica Ave, after school her freshman year of college, to joining glamour gals, a non profit organization where teen volunteers bring a sense of community into the lives of residents living in senior homes across the U.S. This is all just in her freshman year of high school at Benjamin N. Cardozo High! Outstanding
As Covid-19 approached she was in the process of becoming a Dance Teacher for Dance to Unite, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization whose mission is to use dance as a vehicle to teach and to celebrate cultural diversity. Covid was not a barrier for Mahogony! She attended the program virtually, dancing with all of the children, doing what she loves best, although she was disconnected, the joy spread through the screen.
As Mahogony's passion for the arts grew, she danced in Upstate New York briefly, and continued to during the summer of 2022 at a summer camp in Long Island New York as a dance teacher. Mahogony's love for the youth has been something very prevalent throughout all of her years of service in her community.
Mahogony continues to serve her community by singing as a Alto Vocalist for the Wildcat Worship Team at The Great Bethune Cookman University for the chaplaincy, all the while serving as a Student Justice with the Student Government Association under the Director of Judicial Affairs and Community Standards.
Having worked with many major named companies such as Microsoft, Fizz, VS PINK, NASCAR, and more, Mahogony has repeatedly been a cornerstone role model for her city, that where ever she goes, she will always put her best foot forward and hit the ground running, on her way to taking necessary course of action to continue to be a light wherever she goes!
" I believe every young child especially those of our POC community should know that they can achieve all that they wish to be, whatever that may be, despite how far the horizon may seem... with Soul, Love, and Creativity. "
